This perfume may contain a glimpse of gardenia, but it is just obliterated by the tagate note, which is akin to the marigold flower. Have you ever smelled a marigold flower? Probably not, because they aren't meant for smelling. Marc Jacobs also has a fair amount of musk that lurks on your skin, and the entire composition is not exactly fresh smelling, but more like nauseating. Try before you buy!
